StandOut Training

Now it’s not often that I post personal stuff here, but I’m prepared to bare all today, and let you know the results of a recent assessment I took.

Markus Buckingham’s StandOut training was an interesting insight, and our group all took this so we better understood the team dynamics. Here’s my results. Do you think this captures me well or not? (no right/wrong answer)

Doctor Who Anime

Hard to believe someone can create something of this quality – home made anime concept for Dr. Who – one person drew animated and did partial voice over.

Love the voice excerpts of Jon Pertwee (Dr. Who), Roger Delgado (The Master) and Nicholas Courtney (Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart). Enjoy!

HoloDesk – Direct 3D Interactions with a Situated See-Through Display

HoloDesk is a novel interactive system combining an optical see through display and Kinect camera to create the illusion that users are directly interacting with 3D graphics. A virtual image of a 3D scene is rendered through a half silvered mirror and spatially aligned with the real-world for the viewer. Users easily reach into an interaction volume displaying the virtual image. This allows the user to literally get their hands into the virtual display. A novel real-time algorithm for representing hands and other physical objects, which are sensed by the Kinect inside this volume, allows physically realistic interaction between real and virtual 3D objects.

The Only Exception

Maybe I know, somewhere deep in my soul
That love never lasts
And we’ve got to find other ways to make it alone
Or keep a straight face

And I’ve always lived like this
Keeping a comfortable distance
And up until now I had sworn to myself that I’m content with loneliness
Because none of it was ever worth the risk
